Katie Clausen is currently the Middle School (5th, 6th,and 8th) Drama teacher at Athens Academy.

She was born and raised in Duluth, Ga which is approximately one hour west of Athens. She began her theatre career almost 9 years ago as a freshman in high school, however, those close to her would say she's been performing for a lot longer. While attending Duluth High School she was quickly drawn to the department of theatre and was inspired by her director, Vanette Vedder, to continue her education in theatre at the collegiate level. She then attended Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. While at Auburn she was actively involved in the department of theatre as President of the Tau Gamma chapter of Alpha Psi Omega (drama honor society). She was also involved with the Auburn Players, a student led organization devoted to creating theatre. Not only was she involved in the Theatre department, but also held offices in the Student Government Association for two years. First as a member of Freshman Forum and secondly as Director of the Miss Auburn University Pageant. She was also a member of Chi Omega sorority. She graduated from Auburn Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance.

This past summer (2007), Ms. Clausen has been busy working on getting ready for a great year at Athens Acadmey, but has also been overjoyed to work with the Georgia Shakespeare Festival in Atlanta. She hopes to continue a strong bond with this professional company for years to come.
