Our team captain is Michael Lai. We have practice after school every Day 1 in the Reading Room. Attendance to practice sessions determines eligibility to be a representative of the Athens Academy Academic Team in tournaments.

Congratulations to Athens Academy for finishing second in the Harvard Mirror Open. This accomplishment qualifies your teams for participation in the 27th Annual National Academic Championship.

You may choose to compete at one of these three venues:
New Orleans, May 23-25, or
Washington, D.C., June 5-7, or
Chicago, June 13-15.

On Saturday, November 15, 2008, Athens Academy Academic Team participated in a Harvard-Mirror Tournament up in Rabun Gap Nacoochee School. This was the first tournament that the team participated this year. They were competing with seven other independent schools in the area (including Central Gwinnett, Rabun Gap, Cedar Shoals, Wesleyan, Baconton Charter, St. Pius, and Norcross) and they won second place!

Team members who participated that day were Margaret Heald (senior, team leader), Malik Obeidin (senior), Bridgette Duffield (senior), Tavish Gantz (freshman), Shida Chen (freshman), and Aneet Patel (freshman).
