Center for Teaching offers the Summer Institute July 2009
One of the core programs at the Center for Teaching is the 'Summer Institute.” These are workshops taught by Westminster and Drew faculty, as well as faculty from other schools in Atlanta. Participation is open to faculty in the greater Atlanta area and marketed regionally and nationally. The ultimate goal is to create a Center for faculty professional growth and development. The Summer Institute will run the weeks of July 13th and July 20th.
Workshop topics come from the interests and talents of the faculty. Workshop curriculum is designed to excite, entertain, and enrich the learning experience for faculty as well as being relevant to learning. A few of the workshops offered this summer include: Create Never-Ending Practice Problems with MS Excel, Developing and Sustaining Professional Learning Communities, Nspire Think Tank, Teaching 21st Century Health: Science for the Public Good, Creative Writing: The Teacher as Writer and many, many more.
