JV Parents: Help Needed

We are continually in need of help at matches with the following jobs:

1. Line Judging
2. Score Keeping
3. Libero Tracking

Usually, we need 2 people (a line judge and a scorekeeper/libero tracker) for each match.

To line judge, the qualifications are minimal. You must be able to see (somewhat accurately), straighten your arms (to make an "in" call), bend your arms (to make an "out" call), and move out of the way if a volleyball player is running towards you! It is pretty easy! Other than that, you have to be willing to get to a match a few minutes early. The officials train you prior to each match, so they will tell you what to do!

We are required to have at least one line judge for each match!

Score Keeping is a little more involved, but it is not rocket science. I would love to have two or three parents who are willing to learn how to do this. I can train you in about 20-30 minutes. Obviously, the more you understand volleyball, the easier this process will be. But, it is not too difficult. We do have some volunteers who can help us at most matches, and we have been fortunate to have some student help in years past, but there will be times (especially at away tournaments) when we need help. If we don't have a parent who can do it, we will have to use a coach, which is detrimental for our team. So, if you are at all interested or just plain nice and willing to help out, please let me know.

Libero tracking is pretty simple. Anyone can learn how to track when the libero comes/goes from a match in a matter of minutes before the match.

I know it is not always fun to have to work while you watch your children play, but please know that your service is appreciated and necessary for our overall success. As is the case with most things, we cannot be a good team without our team of parents and supporters behind us.
