6. Memorable high school athletic moment:
Unfortunately none of my high school teams were very good, so nothing really sticks out (though there was a fist fight during one of my soccer games freshman year). But I did play in the Div. 3 NCAA Championship game in Field Hockey in college - we lost, but we had some really intense wins to get there.
7. What was the color and model of your 1st car and what do you remember about it?
1989 Maroon Toyota Camry; my brother drove it for two years before I got it and I had to push the brake pedal down about 5 inches before any slowing down occurred.

9. What is your “Special Spartan Moment”?
Making the state tournament last year - the girls were all so excited and they all felt how significant it was to each member of the team and for the program as a whole.
10. What would you consider to be unique about Athens Academy?
The closeness that develops among our whole student body and between the faculty and students; and that our students are able to be involved in so many different activities and to experience so many great things while here.

World History (9th grade)
12. What do you enjoy about your academic discipline?
Understanding the past helps us to understand how we got to where we are today; understanding other cultures (and our own) is essential to being an informed global citizen; plus, history is full of compelling people and stories, and some really bizarre moments.
13. What sport(s) do you coach?
Assistant Varsity and JV Girls Basketball

Prior to the Atlanta Hawks/Golden State Warriors game Dec. 29th, the Lady Spartan players and coaches were treated to a court-side visit with Dominique Wilkins. Athens Academy Boys Coach, James Banks, played with Dominique at UGA and called him to let him know the team would be attending the game. Now the Lady Spartans know 2 UGA legends.........Dominique and our own James Banks!
Athens Academy finished the tournament with a 2-1 record earning a 3rd place finish. Day 1, Athens Academy defeated Grady High School (AAA) 41-30. Day 2, Athens Academy lost their 1st game of the season to Pope High School (AAAA) 29-47. Day 3, Athens Academy defeated host school Westminster (AA) 39-33. The Lady Spartan overall record is now 10-1.
