Welcome to the 2011 India Trip Blog.
We begin our travels on July 19th with a departure from Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, arriving in the early morning hours on July 21 in Trivandrum, India. We will spend much of our first day in India sleeping and recovering from the long international flights. On July 22, the adventure really begins as we will visit our friends a St. Jude's School in Pallam. After spending time visiting in Southern India, we will travel to Kolkata where we will make new connections at The Heritage School. Additionally, we will tour the city and be hosted by Athens Academy Grandparents Subroto and Kuljit Chatterjee. Our final destination will be Delhi, where we will tour the city and take a day trip to visit Agra and the Taj Mahal. The final highlight of our adventure will be when we are hosted by Mrs. Guneeta Taneja (sister of fifth grade math teacher Mrs. Bineeta Chatterjee) and her family prior to our departure for Atlanta in the early morning hours of July 31.
We look forward to sharing entries and pictures from our journey along the way, as internet access allows.
