Update

As listed on the blog for last week, this week is crazy.

We took the first hour of the ERB Writing Assessment test this morning. Students may discuss it at home with you and come in tomorrow ready to revise and write the final draft. Go to bed early and get a good night's rest!

Classes have been shortened due to the writing test. However, we are still plugging along. There is a Wordly Wise 17 quiz Friday, but that is the only quiz this week.

Students were assigned roles for the play and will be writing their own lines Thursday and Friday. There will also be time to work with Mrs. Currie on Simple Machines on these days.

Don't forget about Festival Day on Saturday morning. Two fourth grade parents are chairing the event that should be fun for all! The children will sing at 10:00 and games open at 10:30. See you there!

** Keep working on International Day and Simple Machine projects! Scroll down to get the information. **

Important Information about this short week and Upcoming Dates

We have a short but busy week this week! We will not be having our normal helps sessions after school this week.

Don't forget about the map quiz on Tuesday. It will be over part 1 of Europe. Your child should know which countries they should know. They have been reviewing them in Social Studies often.

We do have the Biography Breakfast on Wednesday. Please make sure your child has prepared for this project. They know what is expected of them. You will find the volunteer form we sent home on conference day attached to this page. The Biography Breakfast will be followed by the viewing of the movie of The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. We will end the day with Activity Afternoon. It will be an exciting day!

With the long weekend approaching, we are going to post the forms for the upcoming projects on this blog. You may find time to work on these. They will stay here for you to refer to until the projects are due. The country reports are due Friday, April 20, and simple machines are due Friday, May 11.

We will be taking an art field trip in a few weeks. Watch Thursday folders and this blog for information regarding this trip.

Students will be taking the ERB writing assessment on April 10 and 11th. Again, a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast are all they need to do to prepare. Our practice ERB test will be April 18 and ERB testing will be April 23-27. More information will come home regarding these tests.

Parts for the play will be handed out soon. We will begin writing lines when we return to school on April 9.
There is no script for them yet, they write their own lines. They will be given plenty of time to memorize lines.
