After serving as a nurse in WWII, Claire Randall is on a second honeymoon with her husband in the British Isles. Out walking one day, Claire comes upon an ancient stone circle, and when she touches a boulder, she is hurled back in time--to the mid 1700s--and into the midst of the MacKenzie clan.
