BigSun Scholarship
The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.
Deadline - June 20, 2008 Amount of Award - $500.00
The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution.

Attention Seniors:
Jackson EMC is now accepting applications for three scholarship awards that are based on academic ability and financial need. Students must be the resident of a home served by Jackson EMC.
Pick up an application from the guidance office or visit their website at www.jacksonemc.com. The application deadline is January 25th. Contact information is below for additional information.

The Paul Broun Essay contest for 10th District High Schoolers allows students to write an essay of up to 250 words on one of the virtues stated in the Georgia Flag pledge, wisdom, justice, and moderation. Students writing winning essays will receive a flag, a copy of the Constitution, and a signed photo with the Congressman and their favorite teacher or administrator. All essays are due by March 18th. Optimist International gives young people the opportunity to write about their opinions of the world with the opportunity to win a college scholarship of up to $6,000. This year’s topic is “Today’s choices shape my future,” with all applications due December 31st, 2007. See Mr. Stachura for more details.
