Upper School News

Parents are invited (and encouraged) to attend the Upper School Parents' night on Thursday, August 26th at 7pm in the Presentation Hall. After a brief meeting there, parents will have the opportunity to meet with their children's advisor and teachers. While there will not be enough time to meet with teachers individually, it does provide the opportunity for parents and teachers to forge the relationship necessary to help the children. Further, teachers will be able to share with parents their expectations of the students. It is an important evening and one which I hope you can all attend.

The days are getting shorter, the time is drawing near, and the 2010-2011 school year will be here soon. If you are new to Upper School, please remember the MANDATORY Orientation Session scheduled for Wednesday, August 11th. Information regarding this event has already been mailed and more specific details regarding this important event will also be included in the back to school mailing scheduled to be sent on Wednesday, July 21st.

Each of you will also soon receive various forms that contain pertinent information, some which will need to be returned to your advisor on the first day of school, a copy of the daily schedule, which has been slightly altered for the 2010-2011 school year, and a copy of your finalized schedule. There will be lots of information coming your way so please do take the time to read it. For the meantime, enjoy these days.....they will pass quickly....

Mamma Mia! Our kids are starting Upper School!

And if that's not enough to give you heartburn, let's create some of our own at the Class of 2013 Cafe Tillman Italiano Potluck Supper...

Please bring an Italian dish (need not be homemade--just hot!) based on the first letter of your last name, in an aluminum or other disposable container for easy cleanup (bring dipsosable serving utensils, if you have them):

A-H Main course: (Pizza, Past, Antipasto, Lasgna--we will have a special section for vegetarian varieties)

I-O Salads: (Green, Caesar, Pasta Salad--please include salad dressing, if appropriate)

P-Z Desserts (need not be Italian! Just Tasty!)

Bread and Beverages (Tea, Lemonade and Water) will be provided.

You may bring food as early as 5:30 p.m.
Parents will go through the buffet line after a brief welcome from Mr. Chambers and Mr. Watson at 5:45. Students will arrive after they meet with their mentors. Parents and Advisors will break off into groups from 6:45-7:15 while students eat.

At 7:15, all will move to the Presentation Hall for 7:15-8:15 Conduct and Honor Code program.
