Teachers from Athens Academy recently received grant money from the Oconee County Chamber Education Foundation. Mrs. Chuboff and Ms. Boyd received a $500 grant to further develop their "flipped classroom concept" and Mr. Alan Hickerson received a grant to buy props for his end of course Shakespeare performance, which will take place next Tuesday, May 15th at 7pm in the Presentation Hall and again on Thursday, May 17th at 5pm. Congratulations to the teachers for their hard work until the very end. With finals just a week over a week away, please encourage your child to also work hard until the very end.

One of our current 6th grade students is in need of a bone marrow transplant. Our community has come together in such a spectacular way to help her and you can too! Please visit www.marrow.com to learn how you can help this special little girl and so many other people who are in need of YOUR assistance. Also, please continue to look for updates and information that will be sent out from Athens Academy. It has always been important to help others and perhaps it is even more important when the "other" is one of our own......
Now that our conferences are over and because they went well, I hope you have a safe and enjoyable break. Take advantage of the time away so you can return rested and ready to finish the year on a positive note. When you return, there will only be 43 class days remaining. Make them count.....!
As March 7th approaches and parents and children prepare to meet with advisors to discuss current progress and scheduling for next year, please review the Course of Study 2012.pdf
