The PSO has had a great year! Thanks to all our parent volunteers who serve the school in so many ways. Just a few of the recent projects we’ve been involved with:
• The “Country Fair” Festival Day was a great success—beautiful weather, great food, and a lot of fun games and activities. Thanks to Susan Ferguson, Marty Kemp (chairs), and Hart Roberts (co-chair) for all their hard work and time spent pulling together this huge event. Thank you to Debbie Ramsey for once again presenting a fun and entertaining opening program with our Lower School students.
• The Lower School Art Project was a huge success again this year! Thank you to Susie Malcom (chair) and Supriya Chesser (co-chair) for their organization and efficiency with this project. A special thank you goes out to Betsy Lilliston for her dedication and hard work helping our students create unique and original pieces of art.
• The PSO-sponsored Required Reading Sale has once again proven to be a convenient way for students to acquire their summer reading materials. Thank you to Jan Solomon (chair) and Penny Rupert (co-chair) for efficiently providing this service for our parents and students.
• Beverly Phares (our long time chair) and DeeAnn Cox (co-chair) have done an outstanding job obtaining all of the many Guest Writers we have been fortunate to have at Athens Academy. They have spent countless hours coordinating all the many details involved in hosting these out of town guests to our school.
• Thank you to Susan Buchanan (chair) and Jan Young (co-chair) for all the hard work they have already put into hosting the Post Planning Luncheon to be held in June for our faculty and staff. The faculty and staff always look forward to this wonderful expression of our appreciation. Money raised by the PSO will be presented to each division for use on special projects.
Thanks to everyone who made this school year so successful for our students, faculty, and families. Have a great summer!
