Maggie Kellett Wins the Sewanee Award for Excellence in Writing
Rising senior Maggie Kellett received the Sewanee Award for Excellence in Writing at Athens Academy’s Honors Day in May. This award is presented by the Upper School faculty to a junior who has demonstrated excellence in writing, the promise of continued outstanding writing achievement, leadership, academic scholarship, and involvement in the community.
Sewanee: The University of the South, located in Sewanee, Tennessee, is recognized for its long-standing tradition of academic excellence. In keeping with this tradition, the University of the South presents the Sewanee Award for Excellence in Writing to outstanding members of the junior class on the basis of scholarship, leadership, demonstrated excellence in writing, and notable potential for future success as a writer. Also taken into consideration are the student’s interests, activities, and achievements in school and community.
