During the halftime of Athens Academy’s football game against Towns County, Allison Liedberg (center) was crowned the 2005 Athens Academy Homecoming Queen by Jordan Evans one of the members of the 2004 Homecoming Court. Miss Liedberg is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Liedberg of Athens. Other members of this year’s Homecoming Court include (l to r) Amber Williamson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marty Williamson of Athens; Erin Morris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Morris of Athens; Hailey Evans, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Evans of Winterville; and Gaylie Felchlin, daughter of Mr. and Ms. Fritz Felchlin of Athens.

During Athens Academy’s Homecoming festivities, William Ashford (center), son of Drs. Clinton and Rebecca Ashford of Athens was crowned the 2005 Homecoming King. His court included (l to r) Dustin Barrett, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Barrett of Athens; Fielding Callaway, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Callaway of Watkinsville; Nick Ferrara, son of Dr. and Mrs. Mike Ferrara of Athens; and Brett Satterfield, son of Dr. and Mrs. Stanley Satterfield of Athens.

This year, seventeen members of Athens Academy’s senior class have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their performance on last October’s PSAT/NMSQT. David Fu, Rebecca Hale, Christopher Horn, James Jacoby, Malini Reddy, and Dorothy Todd have been named Semifinalists and will continue in competition for Merit Scholarship awards offered in the spring. Kelsey Allen, Elizabeth Cason, Claire Coenen, Catherine Dunleavy, Hailey Evans, Anna Fleming, Elizabeth Greer, Ankur Mathew, Louis Timberlake, Kate Wanner, and Nate Weems have been recognized by National Merit as Commended Students.
