Athletics Announcements

The 8-A Subregion Champion Spartans finished 3rd in the Region Tournament at Towns County and will advance to the first round of state at Excel Christian in Cartersville. Game time is 7:00 p.m.

Directions to Excel Christian Academy

From I-75 North take Exit 288 (Cartersville/ Main Street Exit). Follow Main Street to Hwy 41 (second light), turn left. Go to the second light (South Bridge Road) and turn right. Follow South Bridge Road to the first traffic light and turn right onto Old Mill Road and ECA will be approximately 1 mile on the right.

Weight Training:

Middle School Football Mon, Tue and Thursday 8:00-10:00
Varsity Football Monday through Thursday 8:00-10:00
Girls Only (10:00-11:30) Monday through Thursday
Open to all: 11:30 to 1:00 Monday through Thursday

Baseball: Upper School -- June 2-14

Upper School Basketball:
Boys: June 2-6 skill development-TBA. June 23-28: practice at the Spartan Center and games in the Jackson County Team Camp

Girls: practice June 4-6 and 9-12 from 5:30-7:30; girls camp at Clemson will be June 13-15

Cheerleading: July 14-18: JV and Varsity Practice at SC, July 21-24 Cheer Camp at UGA

Football: Throwing sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays (grades 9-12)

Note this change: Middle School Football will begin August 11. They will not attend the camp in Habersham County the week of August 4.

Soccer: Girls Upper School--June 17-27

Track and CC: Camps at UGA: June 18-21, Weekly CC runs TBA

Volleyball: Team Camp at Emory, July 21-24, rising 8th-12th

For the second consecutive year, Head Boys Basketball Coach James Banks has been named Region 8-A Coach of the Year. In addition Coach Banks has been named the the assistant coach for the North Squad in the North-South All-Star Game in Savannah on March 30. He will join long time friend and rival Bolling Dubose of Jefferson to make up quite a talented coaching staff.

Footnote: James Banks has the rare distinction of having played in the All-Star game as well as coaching in it.
